Day 3

Day 3.

Really.

No school.

Iced in.

We're lucky we haven't killed each other. Today we're kind of all in a punchy mood. That's what is getting us through so far, I think. Matt worked full days the first two, and he's relaxed a little today, which is helping the vibe dramatically. As I type, they are giggling and playing downstairs. Much better.

The schools say they cancelled because of the conditions of subdivisions, side roads, and their own parking lots and properties. I can imagine. Who knows if it'll be any better tomorrow.

We still haven't left the house. Matt ventured out to the mailbox (which happens to be across the street from our house) last night and was horrified at how bad the ice was. Solid sheet of ice- has to be at least an inch thick, I bet. Literally an ice rink. You think I'm kidding, but my friend Lacie actually ice skated on her driveway this week- pretty funny. Matt went out this morning and sprinkled almost a whole bag of salt on the driveway and we're hoping with the sun, that it may help. We're skeptical, but still have some hope. We aren't supposed to have above freezing temperatures until Sunday.

Anyway, Abby is all caught up on homework and school tasks. She even did her Valentines this morning!

I updated our kitchen chalkboard to reflect the season...

and the girls have been playing...

I have a doctor's appointment tonight at 5, so we are planning on getting out today for the first time... we'll see how that goes! Say a prayer that we make it out of our driveway safely and more importantly, back into our driveway!
