Our Disney Cruise Day 3

Day 3:  At Sea

We started this morning with the popular Princess Gathering in the Lobby of the ship.  The Lobby is on the 3rd floor.  The pools are on the 11th, just to give you a frame of reference.  Our stateroom was on the 6th.

Peter Pan visited those waiting in line for the princesses.  We got there about 15 minutes before the posted time for the Gathering, and waited about 30 minutes total.  Many waited MUCH longer.  There were 5 princesses total to see.

The princess were great with the girls.  They all really talked to the girls and spent some time with them, instead of just a quick picture.

Belle asked the girls if they had twirled in their princess dresses yet, and since they hadn't, she said they must.  So they did.  I love this picture, even though it's blurry.  Action shot and all.

They also saw Cinderella and Ariel, but these are 2 of my favorite pictures.

Daddy escorting his princesses...

Steve, Lisa, Matt, and I signed up for a Mixology class.  I had read about it before the cruise as something that is super fun, and worth it even though it costs extra.  -and they were right, we loved it.

We learned how to make 5 different kinds of drinks, and all 4 of us volunteered to go up front (each for a different kind of drink).  (I think there were about 20 people in the class)  I should add that the kids were in the Oceaneer Club for this.

 Another fun day!

Our Disney Cruise Day 2

Day 2:  At Sea

The girls swam most days...

There were always movies playing at the pool on Funnelvision.  Plus, while we were on the cruise the   USA played in the World Cup, so they put it on this big screen.  Matt and Steve stayed down at the pool and watched it.

Soft serve ice cream by the pool was a daily treat.  Lily couldn't get enough of the banana and Abby loved chocolate-vanilla swirl.

Some of the ship...

**I don't have any pictures to share, but I wanted to make a note about some of the shows we saw.  They were awesome, and one of the girls' favorite parts of the whole cruise.  They were "Broadway Style" with singing and dancing.  We saw the cruise line versions of Aladdin, Wishes, and Believe.  We also saw a ventriloquist and a magician that the girls loved.**

Lily at dinner...  (I think she was trying to prove that she wasn't tired- we had the late seating at 8:15)

Dinner with Crush the Turtle at Animator's Palate.  He talked to us and swam around the room on huge screens.  It was really cool.

Our first of many towel animals.

The girls bunked... they traded off each night who was on top.  It got put up (murphy-style) each morning and then pulled down each night.  The ceiling has Peter Pan character constellations.  The lower bunk becomes a couch for daytime.

Matt and I's bed.

Our Disney Cruise Day 1

We've been home from our Disney Cruise for about two and a half weeks, and it's taken me a while to decide how to share our experiences with you who are interested in hearing about it, without driving those who aren't, crazy.  Posting everything on Facebook just clogs up everyone's feed, so I decided I could share more this way.  I think I'll try to divide things up into a bunch of posts, so check back...

We took an Eastern Caribbean 7 night Disney Cruise on the Disney Fantasy.  Our ports of call were St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Disney's private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay.  This gave us several "At Sea" days, which allows for lots of fun on the ship.  We traveled with another family, that we are very good friends with, and we had side by side staterooms.

We stayed at a resort at Walt Disney World for 2 nights before heading to Port Canaveral to board the ship.  We didn't do the parks, we just swam in the pool, went to Downtown Disney, and hung out.

We hired a shuttle/limo service to get us to the port.  It took about an hour, and it was so exciting to see the ship for the first time.  It is a very big, beautiful ship.  This was our first glimpse as we approached:

This is us with Minnie in the boarding area, where you have to get your security documents approved, and such.  Behind us is a replica of the ship.

This is Matt and the girls on the gangway to board the ship!  As we walked on, someone asked our last name and announced us and a ton of cast members were standing in the lobby/atrium clapping as each family boarded.  It was neat.

One of our first stops was to register the kids for the Oceaneer Club.  Because it was the first day, it was open for parents to tour.  Normally, it's secure.  These are only a couple of the areas...

Pixie Hollow was the girls' favorite because they got to create their own fairies on the computer and print them.  We must have 30 printouts of fairies.

This was the Magic Floor.  It was cool.  The outer panels are touch panels for your feet and they play games on it.  We were there for an open house once where they played a "Cars" type game that was really cool.

Here's a movie lounge.  There are always movies playing if you just want to veg-.

There were also craft areas, and the girls participated in a cookie baking activity one day and as a family we went to an Open House activity where we made soapbox derby cars and raced them.

We also just ran into Rapunzel walking around.  Can't let that one go without a picture!

The Sailing Away Party

Our Verandah- because we had side by side staterooms with our friends, they opened up the divider between our verandahs. :)

Daisy!

Our first dinner in the Royal Court

Check back for Day 2's pictures!

Nine

Nine.

Today she is nine.
I think we are in a sweet spot right now with the girls.
Can we just slow down time?
