2013 Talent Show

On Thursday, Abby participated in her school's Annual Talent Show.  It was a very big deal. She did an act with one of her best friends, and their teacher helped them put it together.  They chose a rhythmic poem from their Reading book to do together.  They had to audition back at the beginning of February, and they got chosen to perform.  Since then, they have had a couple rehearsals after school, and finally the big show.  The gym was so packed that it was standing room only, but the girls did great.

Today is World Water Day

If your know my family personally, you may know that clean water is a cause that we are passionate about.  It is just something that struck a chord in me and become one of the those missions that is really important to us.  Which brings me to today.

Today is World Water Day.

In our passion for clean water, we have chosen the organization "charity: water" to donate through.  They use World Water Day as a day to get people to donate their birthdays as a type of pledge.  What this means is that when your birthday rolls around, instead of gifts, you ask for people to donate to charity: water in honor of your birthday instead.  Pretty cool.  I don't know about you, but I don't NEED anything anyway.  But, I do know that I would want my daughters to be able to go to school instead of walking for hours to get dirty water that is going to make them sick anyway.

Sooo, go.  Go give your birthday here.  Or, just give today.  Just, go.

Selling our home update

So, this is not new news, but our house is for sale.  We really thought by now, it would be sold and this process would be over.  However, in hindsight, I think we listed it at a really awful time.  Unless, you HAVE to move in the fall, you just aren't going to. We had some showings over the fall, but there were weeks of... well, crickets, if you know what I mean.

That being said, the traffic on our house has picked up dramatically in the last month.  Like, I know you can't sell a house without showings, but I am so sick of showings.  My poor carpet is tired of the vacuum cleaner!  :) The most miserable part is that we get really good feedback, but no offers.  Seriously... we haven't gotten any bad feedback.  Stuff like- shows well, clean, in our top 2, priced well, and so on.  Soooo frustrating.  It would almost help if there was something you could do something about.

We really think we have to be close with all the traffic we're getting right now.  Surely, right?  Say a prayer for us!  I may have some other house news for you soon as we are in the process of taking a calculated risk.

If you know someone looking for a home and we're friends on Facebook, please check my Profile.  I have a link to the listing there.  For security reasons, I'm not posting it here.
