So, I'm torn. I was just holding a sleeping Lily who is probably about 25 pounds now. It takes all of my lap and both arms to hold and cradle her.
There is something great about when they are newborns and so little that you can cradle them and carry them in one arm. It's pretty great. BUT, babies are hard.
We are starting to get to my favorite age with Lily. I'm not really a baby person, I've finally learned. That is one small reason as to why our family is complete.
If she was this happy wearing hula girl accessories in dance class earlier this spring, I wonder what she'll be like tomorrow at her hula themed birthday party?
(Oh, and can I just say that it kinda makes me want to cry that my baby is turning 5 next week?)
As in, on our current Reading List. We have been reading from a book I got from our church library. I rarely look down there (it's in the basement), but was looking for something specific and stumbled upon this...
We have had some fun reading it. It takes Bible stories and changes them into fun songs, plays, games, etc. It also has all kinds of activities between the stories- which we have yet to venture into. BUT, it has been a fun way to read some of the stories with Abby. We have started doing it at mealtime (mostly dinner). I'm actually considering buying something like it (or the exact book). We read the Joseph stories during VBS and it had all kinds of "quiz" questions that you had to answer throughout and she knew almost all the correct answers! (Guess she did learn something at VBS.)
Our church's VBS was last week and amazing. I know I talked about it a bit previously, but here are some pictures for the full effect. (Thanks to the VBS photographers from who I am stealing a few of these!)
Our Egyptian Palace
All the Egyptian families getting into their tunics.
Making beaded Egyptian headdresses
The journey of Joseph, from prison...
...to palace.
Egyptian hieroglyphics
Making Egyptian collars and arm bands
And let's not forget fun outside!
At the farm...
Playing with water and getting soaked!
Our VBS Closing on Sunday morning. We ran out of chairs for the congregation!
I'm watching a repeat of Grey's Anatomy right now while the girls are napping. You know, my Mommy Sanity Time.
Anyway, one of my favorite all-time lines was just on...
It's Christmas time. Alex just cheated on Izzy with a nurse. He also just failed his Boards so the other doctors are helping him study. Izzy finally breaks down and goes to help him study. He asks her why she's helping him, and here us my favorite line...
Her response (she's yelling at this point)... "Because it's what Jesus would freaking do!"
New sewing machine (which is still sitting in the box on my dining room table): A Singer Curvy. I bought it at a close out price, which was a few hundred dollars cheaper than the original price.
Can you say mess? She kept picking it up upside down, and I would try to fix it, and she would cry. I finally gave up and just figured I'd clean her up later. It would be fair to say she loved it (especially the tortilla).
