CHALK

She's drawing the hair. Beautiful, golden locks.

If only I could teach her how to dry without sitting on the drawing she has already done.
It is a given that if she plays with sidewalk chalk, that her pants/shorts are automatically destined for the washer.

Setting them Free

"Clever" Aunt Lissy bought Abby a Sea Monkey kit for Christmas. We grew them and kept the "tank" in our kitchen window sill. It was a little fun to watch them grow. The biggest problem was that there is no way to clean the tank and it got really nasty. I wasn't sure how to handle it with Abby, but we finally decided that we would set them free in the pond at the front of our neighborhood.

Here is the dirty tank in the window.
We transferred them to a plastic cup to take on our walk to the pond.

Here we are ready to go free them...

This is where they are living now.  Abby said after we dumped them in the pond that now they were free and could make friends in the pond.

Obviously, Lily thought this was a news making adventure.

Easter

Dressing girls up for Easter is just fun.  It also reminds me that I have truly beautiful girls.  We were at my parents for the weekend and we stayed very busy!  The Easter Bunny found us all the way over there and Abby had tons of candy.

This was a turning point holiday because this is the first time that Abby went to find what was left for her in the morning ALL BY HERSELF.  I honestly thought she'd get us before she went down.  I'm naive, I guess.  Also, this time, she snuck eating candy once we got home.  I told her the other day that she could have some candy from her basket after lunch and she chose her chocolate rabbit.  Which was already have eaten and rewrapped in the foil!  She also came down with jelly beans in her mouth.  Oh well.  It isn't going to kill her and I think I was the same as a kid, and still am.  Like mother, like daughter.

A visit

We had a visit this week from Aunt Becky, Kyle, and Grandma D.  Becky and Kyle got to meet Lily for the first time, and Kyle was very excited to be able to hold her.  He did a great job.

While they were here, it was horrible weather, so we had to rule out anything outdoors.  We decided on a trip to the Children's Museum on Monday since Matt had the day off.  The kids loved the Lego exhibit, as you can tell...

Entertaining

Lily is generally in her best mood of the day in the morning, after she has had her "breakfast".  Just this week, I have tried putting her seat in the middle of the living room, rather than next to me.  She doesn't fuss a lot during that time, so I don't need to be right next to her, and Abby seems to like it.  Well, on Saturday, while we were getting ready to go to Sesame Street Live, apparently Abby thought Lily needed entertained (with her make-shift drum).  I just happened to catch this because I had the camera out to take to the show.  What a great big sister.

Sesame Street Live

Matt and I took Abby to see Sesame Street Live on Saturday.  It was a great show...perfect for preschoolers.  We took lots of pictures (we had great seats). As you can tell, Abby absolutely hated it.
